UPDATED: How To Get Thru Covid: Drive-Thru It

  • One way to keep people safe – while having experiences – during covid is to keep them in their cars
  • Experience Supply Co. took over a shopping mall car park for their drive-thru Hauntoween immersive experience
  • Ran for 22 days in October
  • Other in-car experiences include drive-in art shows in Rotterdam, Toronto, and Sao Paolo

This October, immersive event firm Experience Supply Co. created a magical, scary experience that people could enjoy from the safety of their cars.

Heres how it worked:

  • vehicles went down two streets, stopping door to door. Costumed – and masked – actors came out from their “homes” with poles and buckets filled with wrapped candy to provide a re-imagined trick or treat experience.
  • Vehicles passed through an immersive Jack-O-Lantern tunnel with over 1,000 pumpkins
  • along the route, visitors drove past giant pumpkins, headless horsemen, and spider webs.

There were three types of take-home:

  1. Each vehicle’s passengers chose a pumpkin, which was sanitized and put in a plastic bag. As vehicles drive through a windy-themed pumpkin patch, families toook their pumpkins from a drive-up container or had them put in their trunks.
  2. Video opp – when cars pulled up to a green screen, they could create a video memory of your experience that will be emailed directly to you for easy sharing on your socials.
  3. Photo opp – A socially distanced stop at the end of the route commemorated your visit to Hauntoween LA.

But maybe a video is best…

Hauntoween details:

  • Ran from Friday, October 9 through Saturday, October 31, 2020
  • Ticket price: $70 per vehicle

What Experiential Supply Co. Did Next: Wonderland

Hauntoween is turning into WonderLand for the winter holiday season, a light show synced to seasonal music and incorporating elements of midwinter festivities from all cultures. It runs from November 30 to December 23 and promises a visit to the North Pole, a snow tunnel, and Santa’s helpers on hand with sweets and festive cheer.
