Every experience shapes who we are, opening doors to our highest potential. When we travel, we don’t return home a completely new person, we simply have the potential unlocked during experiences that encourage us to lower our inhibitions.

When we work with hospitality properties & travel experience brands, we seek to engage guests in ways everyday life doesn’t have the capacity to do. We assist our clients in becoming a cultural hub, a direct portal into the local scene that opens guests’ eyes up to new possibilities and enriching ways of living.

At the core of our process is diving deep into the stories, symbols, traditions, rituals, values, and beliefs of a destination and then bringing them to life in meaningful & impactful ways. And as wellbeing trailblazers and slow travel tastemakers, the experiences we co-create with you always consider the ripple effect for guests and their ability to flourish once they return home.

Our approach is playful, whimsical, and driven by curiosity, but always grounded in a sharp awareness of human behavior and psychology. Our team consists of independent creatives that share a similar set of values and design sense.

With over a decade of digital storytelling expertise and a passion for traveling, Samantha Hardcastle (founder) was growing tired of the shallow experiences that make up much of the tourism industry. She was looking to be deeply immersed in the places she visited, but often returned home frustrated by a destination’s emphasis on sightseeing, superficial entertainment, and the overtourism that results from it.

After spending three years studying guest experience, positive design, and human behavior on her own and with industry leaders like Cornell, she launched The Storied Experience in the winter of 2019, right before COVID changed the experience industry forever.

Now as the industry rebounds and recovers, Samantha’s mission is more important than ever. Hospitality & tourism experience leaders around the world are waking up to the idea that they can intentionally design moments of wellbeing and transformation for their visitors & guests. And that is exactly what The Storied Experience was created for.
